Enter the cupcake contest here!

Hi everyone - Here is the post where you can enter The San Diego Cupcake Lady contest. It's very simple:

1. Read the rules summarized below.
2. Leave a comment on THIS post with your name (first name, last initial) and contact email (please make sure you check it often).
3. Email ALL your local friends because they might share the cupcakes if they win. (hint: start being super duper nice to them today)
4. Subscribe to this blog or save it to your favorites so that you can see if you won - announcement will be on Monday, April 16.
5. Come back and enter the next contest in a few weeks.
6. Wish yourself good luck! : )

THE RULES: (imagine the booming announcer voice with echo effect here)
1. You must live in San Diego.

2. Please only enter yourself once in the contest (statcounter keeps track of all IP addresses, so duplicate entries will both be deleted).

3. Delivery of cupcakes must be in a public place such as a workplace, mall, grocery store, etc. No private or residential deliveries for safety reasons. The delivery location will be an agreed upon place that is centrally located for both parties.

4. I will not be held responsible for any type of illness associated with the consumption of the prize cupcakes. In other words, if you have any type of allergies (peanut, dairy, etc) please DO NOT enter the contest.

5. The winner must be willing to allow me to post their first name and a photo of them on my website. (See post below titled "A Great Question" for more info on this rule).

6. I will choose the flavor & decorations for the prize cupcakes. I'm not a short order cook, you know. ; )

Good luck, many blessings & Have a sweet day! ; )

Allright, already! :)

Ok, Ok, Ok - I hear you people. Due to the LARGE amount of emails that I have received asking for me to change the contest to a "random drawing" contest as opposed to entering people with a story, I am changing the format of the contest.

Just see the post titled "Enter the cupcake contest" for the details. Yes, you can enter yourself. There are rules, so please read those before you enter.

Good luck San Diego!

A Great Question!

I got a question from a sweet lady today asking if I will be posting information about the winner on my website. Thanks for the great question!

The answer is yes, and no. I am planning to post pictures of the person when the cupcakes are delivered. However, I am going to purchase "mustache glasses or some other disguise" for people who do not want their real picture on the internet. I also would like to have their name (the name - or nickname - can be a made up name for safety or privacy reasons) to include in the post.

I will do my very best to honor the winner's wishes, but also want to make sure that the purpose of this website is to inspire and encourage others to share love with people in their own communities. Please make sure you are willing to abide by the contest rules before you enter the contest. (See first post below for official rules).

Am I for real?

I've been asked if this is a joke and if I'm for real. Nope, no joke and yep, I'm for real. I've also been asked why I want to do this for strangers? Well, the short answer is that I am one abundantly blessed lady and I wanted to find a fun way to keep passing on God's blessings and incomprehensible love. I also chose this route because it's something my 2 young children can take part in and learn the joy of serving others.

Cupcake Surprise!

In addition to the contest mentioned below, I am also planning a tradition of "cupcake surprises" where I will just show up in various locations around San Diego delivering free cupcakes to unsuspecting (but I'm guessing very happy) bystanders. Be on the lookout for pictures of my cupcake adventures coming soon to my blog! For your convenience, you can click on the bloglines button at the top right of this page so that you can be on my subscription list when I update the blog. Have a great day!

Cupcakes in San Diego!

Welcome to my new blog project. I am a proud southern girl, born and raised in a small town in Tennessee. Then I was whisked away by prince charming into a whirlwind military life of adventure and excitement. We have been stationed in San Diego for a few years now and although I love*love*love it, I do yearn for good ole southern hospitality. So, I decided to start sharing some southern hospitality out and about in southern California!

How am I going to do this you ask? The only way I know how. The old southern tradition of baking! My favorite baked thing to eat? CUPCAKES!!!!! Everyone loves a cupcake! Having your own personal sweetly decorated cake just makes the world around you seem a little brighter. And yes, I can bake a mean cupcake! ; )

So here's the deal. Under the post above titled "Enter the cupcake contest" just click on comments and add your name (first name and last initial is fine - or a nickname) along with your contact email address (please make sure it's one you check frequently). It's really that simple!

Make sure you post your name by the deadline of Friday, April 13. I will be using a random number generator to choose the winners. Then, I will announce / contact the winners on Monday, April 16 and will deliver the cupcakes that week. Of course I will be posting pictures of the winner after the cupcakes are delivered! Again, please make sure you put your contact email in the post or email me your info at navycupcakelady@yahoo.com

Just a few rules:
(See post above titled "A Great Question" for more info on this rule).
6. I will choose the flavor & decorations of the prize cupcakes. I'm not a short order cook, you know! ; )

And please don't forget to leave a comment for me on this post! I would love to hear what you think about my project.
